So many of us worry about the past

Naag Panchami
Nepalese
people worship snake gods, among
others. The snake gods are also called
Naagas. In the ancient times,
Naagas halted rain to fall over Nepal. The king of that
time happened to be a Tantric, a person endowed
with occult powers, and so he used his
powers to make the Naagas let go
of the rain. The king succeeded in doing so, but he also
honoured the majestic powers of Naagas by turning the day
of victory into the festive occasion of Naag Panchami.
On Naag Panchami, devotees put a
picture of Naag above their doorway and perform pujaa with
flowers, sweets, etc. Food
offerings for the snakes are left in the paddies and
yards.

Man and Dog
"What is the greatest anomaly of our times?"
asked the historian.
"Man today has reduced himself to the state of a dog."
"How is that possible?" he exclaimed with shock.
"A man running after the world for happiness is like a street
dog running after a car, thinking he will get it." |

Process of Realization
Realization
may be seen as the ultimate discovery of the
soul. It is a finding of reality, an experience of what is
always there. To follow God as the Avataara to the end of the
spiritual journey is to find him, to know him, to love him,
to become him, and finally, to realize him. For those who are
determined to find him, Meher Baba once set forth twelve ways of
realization:
1. LONGING and thirst for union with God
2. PEACE OF MIND like that of a frozen lake
3. HUMILITY of the earth
4. DESPERATION of not being able to live without
Him.
5. FAITH in Him even when He says it is night
while it is day
6. FIDELITY like that of your breath to your life
7. CONTROL THROUGH LOVE when love for Him drives
all the sensory pleasures
8. SELFLESS SERVICE like that of the sun towards
all creatures
9. RENUNCIATION of everything physical, mental,
and spiritual
10. OBEDIENCE that is spontaneous, complete and
natural
11. SURRENDER like that of an insomniac to sleep
12. LOVE like that of St. Francis towards Jesus

biography The Masery of Consciousness by Allan Y Cohen
